Research
My main task is to analyze samples of the common whelk from Breiðafjörður. The
analysis includes; measurements of the common whelk characteristics, enumeration of parasitic
infections and to record imposex if present. Additionally, I will determine the age of the whelks by
counting concentric rings in the operculum. The projects I am involved in focus on the distribution
and abundance of common whelk in Breiðafjörður and characterization of the biology of
the species in the fjord.
